In a corresponding move, the Rays recalled reliever Brandon Gomes from Triple- A Durham. Gomes posted a 3.09 ERA in 10 appearances earlier this year with Tampa Bay.
Among all catchers in baseball, Montero ranks as a top-3 leader in runs batted in, slugging percentage (SLG), on-base plus slugging percentage (OPS), while sharing the co-lead in runs scored and leading all backstops with 22 doubles. He's helping keep the Diamondbacks in the National League West pennant race.
1B -- MARK TEIXEIRA, NEW YORK YANKEES
Zobrist is among the top-5 leaders for all major league second basemen in the following categories: RBI, walks, on-base percentage, SLG, OPS, runs scored, and is tied for the major league lead with 28 doubles. He's a well-rounded offensive player and can also play a number of positions across the diamond. He's a key cog on a very good Tampa Bay team.
3B -- ARAMIS RAMIREZ, CHICAGO CUBS
SS -- JOHNNY PERALTA, DETROIT TIGERS
OF -- ANDREW MCCUTCHEN, PITTSBURGH PIRATES
In a season full of feel good stories (Ryan Vogelsong, Lance Berkman, Bartolo Colon, etc.), Gordon has been another one with just not as much publicity. Gordon was a punching bag for jokes the past couple of seasons but has finally broken out. He's been one of the best outfielders in the AL this season, period. Gordon joins Jacoby Ellsbury as the only outfielders in the AL batting at least .290, with 100 hits, 20 DB, 10 HR, 45 RBI and an .800 OPS. He also has the most outfield assists in the majors with 13.

Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl Odds
Will he or won't he? Now that the Dallas Cowboys have a new head coach in Wade Phillips, the big question will be: Does Terrell Owens stay with the team.
Jerry Jones continues to suggest that Terrell Owens will remain with the team.
"I've said that he's back, he's here, he's under contract," Jones said. "In the interviews I've just been through (to hire a new coach), it was very clear to me how highly he's thought of and how much of an impact he had on our offensive success."
Just to be sure though, Terrell Owens cleared out his locker and removed his name plate.
Terrell Owens was among the Cowboys most productive players this past season, catching 85 passes for 1,180 yards and a league-best 13 touchdowns.
But T.O. is due a $3 million roster bonus in June, then a $5 million salary this season. Cutting him before then would save a lot of money and headaches.
Aside from the questions surrounding Terrell Owens, the oddsmakers at MySportsbook.com have concerns over starting quarterback Tony Romo's state of mind and whether he will remain a starting quarterback. It is also not known how players will adjust to new head coach, Wade Phillips.
